The fireplace in the living space is simply amazing. It’s completely inserted and flush with the wall. Its low level flame flickers across its horizontal width adding the perfect amount of warmth to this modern space.

Gabriel Ross’ finest is found in this space – our Ennezero side cabinet featuring the comic design, Valentina, Moooi’s Random light fixture, a Nani Marquina area rug, Christina Hilborne’s Urban Chic coffee table, and our very own Project upholstery collection.

This home offers a huge outdoor living space – we furnished it with our Royal Botania Ninix collection.

Our Niloc bed and custom cabinet adorn the bedroom space, complimented by the Paper Mirror by Moooi, Tizio Classic bedside lamps by Artemide, and Nelson Cabinet side tables by Herman Miller. And taking this bedroom from fabulous to divine is Fritz Hansen’s Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen.

My journey through this show suite was filled with surprises – from radiant heat flooring to an entire lower level living area, den, and tonnes of additional space open to customization. Space, space, and more beautiful big windows.

Lower Level Living

The lower living area is furnished with Cassina‘s Marralunga sofa and chair in black leather, the Noguchi Table from Herman Miller, Panton’s Amoebe Chair, 2 Le Corbusier’s LC1 chairs flanking a Nelson Platform Bench. On the wall is a Sunflower Clock by George Nelson for Vitra, and on the opposite wall – a Calligaris low entertainment unit.

The Tizio is a wonder of balance. This light can be maneuvered in all kinds of surprising directions, and its perfectly weighted arms and base will never fail. It also gives off a beautiful warm halogen glow that suits any office or living space.

As shown above, the Melampo family has a secret. The unique shade design allows the shade to lock into place facing downwards, at an angle, and pointing straight up. This provides either direct, indirect, or ambient lighting.

Like upside down droplets of frosted water, the Castore table lamps by Michele De Lucchi are another Artemide classic. These lights come in various sizes and feature a touch technology that allows you to turn the light off and on, and adjust brightness all by the touch of a finger.

Dioscuri Table Lamp collection by Michele De Lucchi for Artemide

Dioscuri, also designed by De Lucchi, are similar to Castore in shape and finish but without the tall stand and round base. These lamps are simply beautiful glowing orbs that sit directly on the surface supporting them. I walked around the showroom for months not noticing this lamp, and then one day I saw it, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.  It’s quiet and understated, but in a powerful and poetic way ( like a haiku).  I love all the different forms it can morph into and it slightly reminds me of an old school Star Trek model (just for the record, I am not a Treki, not that I have anything against Trekies.  Naoto Fukasawa (say it out loud, it feels beautiful in your mouth) distilled something magnificent here.

I saw a photo of a lamp by Karim Rashid called the Cadmo by Artemide.  I then saw it in person when it came into the showroom.  It is quite a show piece.
